PRECONSTRUCTION
The visualization and communication opportunities that result from using virtual construction are most significant during the preconstruction phase. By combining BIM with electrical estimating, scheduling and planning tools we can ensure that we optimize the project’s design, construction, and operation with respect to cost, time, and quality. This adds value at every step during the lifespan of each project.
Projects start with strategy sessions ensuring goals, needs and requirements are clearly identified. Early and effective planning is the foundation of every successful project. Working closely with the project team, we provide a comprehensive budget to assist with the project analysis. Ideas and value-engineering options are developed through in-depth collaboration in preconstruction, approach to design, and engineering phases. This early involvement facilitates the execution of the design vision, the requirements of the client, and the cost and scheduling constraints of the project.
BIM (BUILDING INFORMATION MODELING)
Building information modeling is the process of creating and managing building data throughout the life cycle of a project. It encompasses the buildings geometry, spatial relationships, geographic information, quantities, item properties and includes dynamic building components.
By analyzing and leveraging the models data Anderson Howard is able to:
• accurately run alternate product comparisons for operational, maintenance, and cost savings
• identify constructability issues and quickly develop alternate solutions
• identify and implement prefabrication and modularization opportunities both before and during construction creating opportunities to reduce the overall schedule
• aids the leveraging of local, national and global procurement for best value
• better coordinate material delivery and minimizing staging requirements
• effectively communicate constructability, phasing and site logistics with owner and partners
• provide virtual build visuals and 3D construction documents to support field teams reducing risk and promoting the highest quality craftsmanship
• provide owner and facilities maintenance with accurate and information rich model
• data from project automatically shared with service departments systems

ENERGY LIFE CYCLE
Anderson Howard performs energy life-cycle cost analysis by comparing existing systems against design alternatives. Utilizing software technologies multiple design options can be loaded into a single project. We then compare and analyze the energy costs, maintenance, and consumption for each option. This significantly simplifies decision making, which results in substantial cost savings over the buildings life-cycle.
VIRTUAL ENERGY AUDIT
Perform detailed comparative analysis of building system designs and technologies. Following this phase, advanced energy use simulation techniques are applied. Building energy audits, economic analysis, utility rate structures, and building energy simulation are performed. The focus then turns to various subsystems, exploring the techniques and technologies that can reduce energy use or operating costs.
SCHEDULING | CPM
Scheduling
Delivering a project on time is as important as delivering on budget. We ensure that we present reasonable, properly planned construction schedules. Our management plan incorporates conceptual and detailed estimating with construction scheduling. Regular team meetings are held to coordinate various aspects of work implementation, submittal and shop drawing reviews, as well as site visits. From pre-design to owner transfer, we manage and adjust the schedule to guarantee delivery on time or earlier.
Critical Path Method (Mapping)
Anderson Howard uses this analysis technique to deliver on time. All complex activities are diagrammed with their required time for completion and how each activity relates to each other. The longer tasks are critical path because of their reliance upon many other subtasks. Using this data we arrange and implement milestones that ensure the project stays on task and running smoothly.
IPD (INTEGRATED PROJECT DELIVERY)
Anderson Howard exudes true IPD experience and expertise. Our qualified team brings strong value to the project collaboration process. IPD consists of progress design meetings that include the owner, architect, engineer, general contractor and design build subcontractors. A collaborative approach allows more accurate decision making early in the project, where the most value can be captured. This joint interaction eliminates significant waste in design and allows data sharing directly between the design and construction team. Productivity is therefore increased through the considerable reduction of constructability issues.

FIRE LIFE SAFETY
Anderson Howard is now an Autocall dealer in Southern California. This partnership capitalizes on our industry experience and best in class service in the fire alarm and critical communication sectors. See below for our fire life safety capabilities:
The Autocall product was strategically selected due to its proven reliability and unparalleled benefits for the system’s end user. The system’s technology offers solutions to complex, design-build projects of any size. A primary benefit specific to the Autocall system is displayed through their Addressable Notification Appliances. These devices feature a patented self-test option that leads to faster results. By providing an easier testing method, occupant-disruption is limited and associated costs are minimized. This is just one example of how Anderson Howard and the Autocall technology can maximize your building's potential.
